MEET IDALIA

A NEW VISION FOR DISTRICT 4

Idalia Maria Amaya is running for Little Elm Town Council to bring fresh, innovative leadership to District 4—leadership that actively listens to and champions the needs of every Little Elm resident. With a strong focus on public safety, economic growth, and community engagement, Idalia wants to ensure that every voice is heard in our growing and diverse community.

The current Town Council has set us on a good path, but it’s time for a new vision for District 4.

A new direction—one that brings even greater opportunity, inclusivity, and progress to District 4. Idalia is ready to build on that foundation and push for solutions that reflect the vibrant, diverse spirit of our community. She’s not just seeking change; she’s leading the way toward a stronger, more unified Little Elm.

BEYOND QUALIFIED

Deeply invested in her community, Idalia serves on the town’s Community Development Corporation Board and is a graduate of Little Elm’s Citizen Government Academy. She holds dual master's degrees from Columbia University’s School of Social Work, and School of International and Public Affairs, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science from the University of Texas at Austin. With over 15 years of experience in social work, community development, education, and nonprofits, she is ready to lead on day one to address the complex needs of Little Elm.

HOMETOWN LEADERSHIP

A proud Texan, Idalia was born in Dallas to Salvadoran parents who raised her to believe in the American promise of a bright future - a future that is possible when you lead with faith, hard work, and a commitment to community.

Over the decades, Idalia has witnessed Little Elm's remarkable transformation from a small lake town to a thriving community of nearly 65,000 residents. As a proud graduate of Little Elm High School and a forever Lobo, this town is in her heart.

In her free time, Idalia enjoys being active in Little Elm’s beautiful parks, spending quality time with family and friends, and experiencing live music. Little Elm is where she grew up, and she is whole-heartedly committed to making sure it continues to grow and prosper for everyone who calls it home.
